Ultimate Street Car 2015 was amazing this year, I'm so glad I got to go and can't thank the guys (and girls) from Collide enough who invited me down to Santa Pod for the weekend. Having never been to a car show for longer than a day, let alone camped there I was excited and quickly bought everything I might need to survive over the 3 days.
We managed to bag a spot on the club camping area right at the front so we were one of the first clubs as you entered the camp. We lines everyone up along the sides and had 2 cars around the club flag as a centre pieces. This was home for the next couple of nights. Friday started out quiet, with only a few stands and many of the early birds testing out their whips on the drag strip. It wasn't until the Saturday when the fun really started. More stands, more cars, more music, I've visited Santa Pod many times but this has to have been the most lively I'd ever seen it. There were some fantastic examples of modified cars from all classes, having missed Modified Nationals earlier in the year I easily got my fix from a fine selection of cars that attended.
Sunday saw the arrival of the Monster Drift Course competition, there was live music and tyre smoke a plenty. The Show and Shine was a fantastic opportunity to get some more photos outside of the club, so I had a wander round to see what caught my eye. This spearmint Mk1 really stood out to me and I have since learned it belongs to Luke from Decked Metals. There were so many fantastic examples on show, have a look at my gallery here for more or head over to my Instagram page where I'll be posting some of my favourites.
Again, a massive thanks to the guys over at Collide for the invite, I'm looking forward to covering more shows with them in the future.
