It's been 3 years since I went to a Gymkhana event and in that time there have been a few new names and cars in the game. Most notably Ken Blocks Ford Mustang and his most recent addition, the Ford Escort released earlier this month. Needless to say I was excited to see these in the flesh and despite all the rain it was worth it.
I spent most of the day sheltering my gear from the intermittent drizzle and downpours whilst trying to take every opportunity to get some new images in-between. Although I didn't manage to get as many shots as I would have liked, I'm still pleased with the ones I took. I used a mixture of my 50mm f1.4 for the static shots, 75-300mm for some of the action and my Tokina 10-17mm fisheye for those hard to reach places. Overall that allowed me to get a good amount of coverage, I did walk away thinking I'm going to need some kind of weather-proofing for my cameras for days such as this, living and working in the UK I'm surprised it's taken this long to sink in, but In order to protect the gear and continually shoot in all weather, I'm going to have to find a solution.
